ALPHA A. MCNETT
BELMONT, Wis. - Alpha Agnes McNett, 91, of Belmont, died Thursday morning, Nov. 2, 1995, at Parkview Terrace Nursing Home, Platteville. She had been in failing health, but was able to remain in her home until Oct. 9, 1995.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mergen-Boll Funeral Home, Platteville, with the Rev. Robert Gill officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where there will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1903, in Grant County, daughter of Lee and Orpha (Cushman) Baker. She married Donald McNett, on April 12, 1921. They farmed in Grant and Lafayette counties until retiring to Belmont in 1958; he died March 7, 1994.
She was an active member of the Pleasant View Primitive Methodist Church, the Extension Homemakers, Miriam Chapter 15, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two daughters, Joy (John) Newman, of Madison, and Marybelle (George) Hillery, of Belmont; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Bernice McNett, of Belmont.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Douglas McNett; her parents; a brother, Clinton Baker; and a sister, Nellie Mathews.
An Alpha A. McNett Memorial Fund has been established.
