Marion Blackett died Thursday, June 10, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah of cancer.
She was born February 6, 1908 in Nephi, Utah to Laurence and Florian Cazier Blackett.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah, and her Master of Arts Degree in Supervision & Curriculum Improvement from Columbia University. Member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She taught in the elementary schools of Salt Lake City School District and worked as principal in the McKinley, Bonneville, Indian Hills, Riverside, and Webster schools. After her retirement she worked as a hostess at the Church Office Building for 10 years. She was a member of the LDS Church, holding various positions in the auxiliaries of the church and also a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Survived by brother, Orson L. (Virginia) Blackett; sister, Carol (Roy) Barrell; both Salt Lake City; and sister, Jonnie (Charles) Bullen, Logan, Utah; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; a brother, Marx C. Blackett; and sister, Kathryn B. Tempest.
