SPRINGFIELD - A graveside service will be held Oct. 15 for Kathryn Alice Estep of Springfield, who died Oct. 8 of age-related causes. She was 88.
Estep was born March 6, 1915, in Eureka, Calif., to Edward and Cynthia Lomax Buchanan.
She married Lee Estep in Vancouver, Wash., on Jan. 15, 1948. He died Dec. 12, 2000.
She lived in Coos Bay before settling in Springfield in 1955. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Alfred Youngren of Springfield; a sister, Isabelle Lourila of Coos Bay; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A daughter, Lora Burdick, died Feb. 14, 1998.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield. Wednesday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sacred Heart.
