Services pending for Mrs. Elmer Clay
Funeral Services are pending for Mrs. Elmer Clay who died Wednesday at her home. Mrs. Clay was recently hospitalized in Omaha where she underwent major surgery, from which she seemed to be recovering satisfactorily.
Mr. and Mrs. Clay observed their 50th wedding anniversary last Dec. 5.
Immediate survivors of Mrs. Clay include her husband, four sons, William of Ainsworth, Howard and Warren of Springview and Larry of Osecola, and two daughters, Mrs. Joe Wranek of Colome, S. D., and Mrs. Glen Buckles of The Dalles, Ore.

Julia Clay
Julia Lucile Byington, daughter of Walter Wells and Lola Trites Byington was born wouth of Springview Oct. 16, 1892, and died en route to the hospital July 6, 1966, at the age of 73 years, eight months and 20 days.
From the age of 8 to 16 years she loved with her family in Iowa and Minnesota, returning to her parents homestead near Riverview.
She was united in marriage Dec. 5, 1915, to Elmer W. Clay at Bassett. To this union six children were born, Dorothy Lucille, William Myron, Howard Elmer, Warren Sheldon, Wilma Marle and Larry Dale.
All of their married life was spent in the same vicinity southeast of Springview. On Dec. 5, 1965, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, Walter, three sisters, Ruth, Clara and an infant sister, and two grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Wlmer W., four sons, William M. of Ainsworth, Howard E. of Springview, Warren S. of Bassett, and Larry D. of Osceola; two daughter, Mrs. Glenn L. (Dorothy) Buckles, The Dalles, Ore., and Mrs. Joe (Wilma) Wranek of Colome, S. D.; three brother, Paul E. Byington, Lewiston, Ida., Marion H. Byington, Bassett and Nelson A. Byington of Culver, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Lester (Ada) Gipson, Lewiston, Ida.; 20 grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted at the Springview auditorium July 9, at 2:00 p. m. with REV. Lenore Ball and assisted by REV. C. Curtis Norlin. Mrs. T. G. Weddel accompanied Harvey Neal and Mrs. Frank Carr who sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Ivory Palaces."
Pallbearers were Jesse Carr, Fred Carr, Kenneth Cook, Orley Ludemann, Lloyd White and Roy Painter.
