OBITUARY (from Jersey Co.)
died 1911. Aloys Bullier, Assistant Cashier of the Bank of Calhoun, was fatally injured in an auto accident Sun pm. Dr Stephen Flatt, Jos Schmieder, Aloys Bullier, and Ray Pinro, (chauffeur), were returning from Deer Plain, where they had attended a Woodman's picnic. It was in the night and they met a team on a hill between Brussels and Hardin. In attempting to pass, the chauffeur lost control of his auto, and the machine started up a steep embankment and turned turtle. Flatt and Schmieder jumped, but Bullier and Pinro were caught under the machine. Bullier was crushed so badly that he died from the injuries Mon. afternoon. Dr Flatt sustained an injury to his leg and Schmieder on the head. Pinro received only slight injuries. Aloys Bullier was a bright young of exemplary character. He had been Assistant Cashier of the Bank of Calhoun since its organization. He is a step son of Capt M. A Kamp, of Kampsville, president of the bank. Mr Bullier leaves a wife and 1 child.
