The daughter of Charles Henry Inman and Abigail Wilson, "Etta" married Otho Brashear on 21 Sep 1899 in Calhoun County, Illinois. During the early years of their marriage, the Brashears lived with Otho's parents in St. Louis. They did not have any children.
Otho and his brother, Luther, both went into the riverboat business. Otho was a steamboat mate and his brother was a pilot.
After that, Otho went into the saloon business with his dad and became a part-owner of his father's establishment. He took a job as a soft drink salesman.
Etta died at Barnes Hospital of breast cancer that had metastasized to her lungs and liver. At the time of her death, she was 69 years, 2 months and 16 days old. She was survived by 3 brothers, Walter of Batchtown, Illinois Allen of Jerseyville, Illinois, and Ellis of Batchtown; and 4 sisters, Maggie Earley, Lizzie Stroud, and Lotus Foval, all of Maplewood, Missouri, and Ruth Fiedler of Batchtown.
In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by her husband, Otho.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on 09 Dec 1943 at the Batchtown Methodist Church. She was buried next to her husband, Otho, who away in 1925.
