Charles Robert "Bob" Ferris, 84, of Marshall, passed away at noon Sunday, October 5, 2008, at VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. He was a self-employed painter in Marshall his entire life. He was born July 29, 1924, In Marshall, to Charles William Ferris and Irene Nay Ferris.
Surviving are five borthers. Dean Ferris & wife Mary Lou of Prairieton, IN, Lloyd Ferris & wife Joan of Indianapolis, Woody Ferris of Marshall, Michael Ferris of Charleston, & Keith Ferris; two sisters, Rita Michael & husband Jerry of Indianapolis, & Judith Ferris of Paris; and stepbrothers & stepsisters. He was proceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Melba Schartel.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the European Theatre during World War II. He was a member of Clark County Post 90 American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975 of Marshall.
Funeral services are 11a.m. CDT Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. Sixth St. burial will be in Marshall Cemetery, with VFW Post 5975 & American Legion Post 90 conducting graveside services. Visitation is 9am until services Wednesday.
