Obituary of Margaret Reed Hall Morgan. 1 May 1940, Clark County (IL) Democrat.

Margaret Reed Morgan was born May 29, 1861 near Melrose in Clark county, Ill., and departed this life April 22, 1940, aged 78 years, 11 months, and 9 days.

She was united in marriage to Remus Hall in September 1875. To this union were born two children. The husband and one daughter preceded her in death.

On November 28, 1886, she was united in marriage to William Morgan. God blessed this union with several girls and one boy, all of whom survive. The bereaved ones are: Mrs. Lee, Stanfield, Ramsey, Ill, Mrs. Edna Nightlinger, Gary, Ind.; Mr. Fred Morgan, Marshall, Ill.; Mrs. Goldie Sykes, Yuba City, California; Mrs. Charles McGlanden, Marshall, Ill.; Mrs. Harmon Kraemer, Paris, Ill., Miss Elizabeth Morgan at home, Mrs. Ruth Whitney, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Thomas Gatewood, Terre Haute, Ind., and one stepson, Bert Morgan, of Martinsville, Ill., twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The father passed away last October 1939.

She was converted under the pastorate of Rev. Broadstone in 1885 and united with the Potter's Hall church, later transferring her membership to the Marshall United Brethren church.

She was a kind and patient mother, always willing to help in time of need. She has been in failing health for some time but never complained.

The leaves wither and the flowers die and just as quickly life passes by. As mother lay down to rest from the toils of this life, she welcome to sweet rest in a new world.
