Marie "Celeste" Franklin, 58 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013, in her home. The daughter of Gregory and Lucille (Garrett) Orth she was born on January 3, 1955, in Toledo, OH. Marie worked as a Dental Assistant. Marie loved to dance and was known for her great sense of humor. On August 10, 1974, she married Jim Franklin. Together they raised three daughters. Marie enjoyed auto racing and was an advocate of the hearing impaired. She was a member of Bedford Alliance Church and Erie Lioness Club.
Marie is survived by her loving husband, Jim; daughters, Stephanie (Nathan) Nusbaum and Jacqueline Franklin; granddaughter, Corianna Nusbaum; sisters, Marcille (David) Yunker, Katherine (George) Pugh, Ellen (Tim) Olrich, Regina (Dan) Cupp, Andrea (John) Conley, Hyla (Pat) Wietrzykowski; brothers, Gregory (Patti) Orth, William (Susan) Orth, Kevin Orth, special friends; Kathy Shope and Cathy Stock; grandchildren of the heart, Ilecia and Anjelica.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Cortney Franklin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in Bedford Alliance Church where she will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
