During the Civil War, Thomas served in Col. George Nixon's 48th Tennessee Infantry.
Thomas and Martha are buried in the family graveyard at Cane Creek, northwest of Hohenwald, Tennessee.
Their children were: Walter W Brown, Jno D Brown, Thomas C Brown Jr., Rebecca J Brown, Fredonia Brown, Martha L. Brown (married John Turnbow-son of Josiah (Peter) Turnbow), Jacob A Brown, William D Brown, Taylor Brown, Levi Brown, Nancy E Brown, Melvina, Molly, Patricia and Delphia Mae (married Harv Turnbow - both Delphia & Harv were born in 1899-both buried now in north GA. Harv was the son of John Ike and Martha Alice Turnbow-daughter of Eason Turnbow).
Have received information that one of the daughters: Molly, might have been a nickname for Mary. Their is a birth certificate showing Mary Agnes Brown Fitzgerald was the name of one of Thomas & Martha's daughters. She was born Oct 28, 1873, buried in Spring Hill, Nashville, she passed Dec 10, 1957.
