ACRES, Mrs. MARTHA - Born June 30, 1880, died July 22, 1958. Mrs. ACRES was born and raised in Scott County. A life-long, true and faithful Christian, the last charter member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. ACRES is survived by eight children: four sons and four daughters, Mrs. GERTIE DUNCAN, Oneida, Tenn., Mrs. VADA BELL REED, Oneida, Tenn., Mrs. ETTA REYNOLDS, Oneida, Tenn., Mrs. MARY STRUNK, Cincinnati, Ohio, FREMON ACRES, Oneida, Tenn., SHERMAN ACRES, Oneida, Tenn., HERBERT ACRES, Detroit, Michigan, ELCANEY ACRES, Cleveland, Ohio, and also a large group of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends.

ACRES, MARTHA – age 78, the wife of the late DAVID ACRES passed away at 11 a. m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. LUTHER DUNCAN near Oneida. She was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church and had a host of friends in the community.
She is survived by 4 sons; FREEMAN and SHERMAN ACRES of Oneida, HERBERT ACRES of Dearborn, Mich., CANY ACRES of Cleveland, Ohio; 4 sisters, Mrs. LUTHER DUNCAN, Mrs. LEONARD REED and Mrs. GARVIL REYNOLDS of Oneida, Mrs. JAMES STRUNK of Cincinnati. Several grand children and great grand children.
Funeral services were conducted from the Pine Hill Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Revs. A. V. Stanley and Jon Riley Byrd officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by West.
