Captain David A Arbuckle is the son of John Davis Arbuckle and his wife, Emily Louisa Jones.
David married Araminda A Carroll, daughter of Colonel DeRosie Carroll and his wife, Ann Jones. David and Araminda had seven children: Willie Carroll Arbuckle 1863-1864, Laura Arbuckle 1866-1866, John D. Arbukle 1868-1933, Annie Arbuckle 1872-1945, and triplets Ada Falconer Arbuckle 1875-1876, Randolph Armistead Arbuckle 1875-1876 and Louis Madison Arbuckle 1875-1900.
About one month after the birth of the triplets, Araminda died. Two of the three triplets (Ada and Randolph) also died before their first birthday.
After Araminda's death, David married his second wife, Elfleda Carroll, who was Araminda's sister. They married on 26 Sep 1876 in Franklin County, Arkansas. David and Elfleda had two children: Kate Ashley Arbuckle 1877-1949 and Mary D. Arbuckle 1879-1938.
