Nancy Lou Meaders was the daughter of Christopher Columbus Meaders and Jane Candice Garrison Meaders. Her maternal grandfather was Rev. David Garrison, circuit rider and Methodist clergyman ordained by Bishop Frances Asbury, who came out of the Garrison family that helped found the Mt. Pleasant Methodist society in 1780 in North Georgia. Her younger brother was John Milton Meaders who began the well-known Meaders pottery tradition of North Georgia.
Nancy married Wiley Hargrove Quillian, son of Methodist circuit rider Rev. James Milton Quillian, Sr. Wiley was a merchant who fought in the Civil War.
