Services for Dorcus Ethel Ethel [sic] Allred, a resident of Wheeler County since 1913, were read Wednesday, May 10, at the First Baptist in Wheeler.

Miss Allred was born in Grayson County, Texas on April 11, 1883. Her parents were Davey Crockett and Mary Ellen Allred.

Miss Allred passed away Monday, May 8, 1967 in Parkview Hospital at 11:50 a.m. She had been ill for a period of three weeks.

Rev. Dale Cain officiated at the 2:30 p.m. services for Dorcus Ethel Allred.

Pall bearers were Ralph Smotherman, Gordon Whitener, Phil Corcoran, Arzia Corcoran, Melvin May and Gene Waters.

Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Myrtel [sic] Renner of Wheeler and Mrs. Viola Hammer of Clovis, Calif; four neices [sic], Mrs. Ethel Grimes of Wheeler, Mrs. Fay Aikman of Woodleaf, Calif., Mrs. Marguerite Anglin of Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Ruth Opie of Boss Lake, Calif., four nephews, Cecil Hammer of Walnut Creek, Calif., Elmer Hammer of Eureka, Calif., Willie Renner of Laketon and Orville Hammer of Pakistan.
