Olive Adeline Belvill was born to Stratton Franklin Muckey and Lydia Allen Coffield Muckey on May 8, 1904 at Alva, Oklahoma. On Nov. 19, 1923 she was joined in wedlock with Ira Harold Belvill in Osborne. To this union were born four sons: Kenneth Ira, Donald Ray, Louis Edward, and Vernon Leroy. They lived at various places around Kansas and in 1930 moved to Cawker City.

Olive was a member of the Baptist Church and active in Cawker City's Senior Citizen organization and various other organizations. She was a cook at the school for several years.

Olive was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She was always busy making things for her family, and doing for others. Whenever a friend needed help they could always depend on Olive to be there for them.. She liked to crochet and make craft projects. She will be deeply missed by her family and all her friends.

Olive was preceded in death by her husband Ira: three sons, Kenneth, Donald and Louis: a daughter-in-law; and a granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Left to mourn her passingare her son Vernon and his wife Pat of Delta, Colo.: three daughters-in-law, Darlene Davis of Delphos, Blanche Belvill of Denver, Colo., and Mary Belvill of Cawker City; and one brother, Clifford Muckey of Hanesville, KS.; three sisters, Esther Means of Jewell, Jessie Kerns of Salina and Elsie Keibler of San Antonio,.Tex.; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 16, 1988 at 10 a.m. at the Cawker City First Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Geist officiating. The hymns "One Day At A Time" and "In The Garden" were by soloist Warren Inskeep and accompanied by organist Jean Inskeep.

Those serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Womack, Mike Womack, Kurt Johnston, Mike Jackson, Jim Belvill, and Jim Nuss. Burial was made in the Prairie grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the church, Domoney Funeral Home of Downs in charge of arrangements.
