Marilyn J. Ballinger, 61, of Salina passed away Monday, October 11, 2011. She was born November 7, 1949 in Beloit.
As a teen, Marilyn worked as a lifeguard and went to beauty school. She graduated in 1967 from Beloit High School. After high school, she worked in Ellsworth & Clay Center as a beautician. After Marilyn moved to Salina she worked in production at Tony's Pizza for 28 years.
Marilyn enjoyed movie night with her friends. She did a hot air balloon once and rode in the Red Baron. She also skydived twice in her life, once at age 50 and once at age 52.
She was always a friend, sister and mother first and put herself last. She could always be counted on for anything that was needed. Family was very important to her and she always remembered birthdays. She adored and was very proud of her granddaughter.
Marilyn also was very spiritual and close to God.
She will be missed by all those hearts she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan & Maurine Loades and sister, Martha Hyman.
Survivors include her son, Brian Ballinger; her granddaughter Mackaylah Ballinger; a sister, Margaret Gastley and husband Charles; her aunt and uncle Bill & Kathleen Baldwin, her cousins, Rebecca Mueller and Alan Baldwin; her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Hyman, Jason Hyman, Jennifer Cormican, Paul Gastley and Stephen Gastley.
The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sat. Oct. 15, 2011, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio.
Inurnment will be at 4:00 p.m. Sun. Oct. 16, 2011 at Elmwood Cemetery, Beloit.
