OBITUARY from Times Union 11/04/1918 - Lake City Robert Lee Winningham, the little 9 1/2 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles D. Winningham, of this county was brought to the Dr. Harkness Hospital on Monday afternoon, following an accidental shooting which tore his right arm nearly off. In response to a phone message, Dr. W. M. Ives went down to the home of Mr. Winningham near Lulu and brought the little boy to Lake City, but his condition would not warrant the amputation of his arm and he died at 8:55 p.m. His remains were carried back to his home this morning and he will be laid away at New Zion Cemetery. It seems that Robert together with several other boys were out hunting and his gun slipped on a log causing it to go off.
