Enlisted: Aug 23,1862, Oswego,NY. Sgt

Mustered into Co "G" 147th NY Infantry.

Died of wounds at Gettysburg.

He was wounded Jul 1,1863 in action at Oak Ridge,Gettysburg near the present Doubleday Ave. he was shot in the right thigh. He was carried for a short distance by a Lt, and a Sgt, but had to be left behind. On Jul 3,1863 his leg was amputated, and he died a short time later at the Seminary Hospital,Gettysburg. He was buried in the Associate Reformed Graveyard,Gettysburg.
