Ira M. Bollman served as a Private in Company H, 110th U.S. Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, United States Army during World War I.

He was originally from Everett, Pennsylvania.

He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

A native of Everett, Pennsylvania, Ira M. Bollman was a son of Abraham and Ida (Penrod) Bollman.

He was a member of the United Brethren Church in Everett. He and his wife came to Adams County in 1954. He served for a number of years as Veterans Affairs Administrator for Adams County. He was associated with Veterans Affairs activities most of his life.

He was a veteran of World War I service with the U.S. Army, and was an officer of the Disabled American Veterans of Pennsylvania, a member of the Gettysburg VFW, the Albert J. Lentz Post of the American Legion, and was a life member of the Mt. Kisco, New York Elks Lodge.

He was survived by his wife, the former Iva Horton, to whom he had been wed 28 years; a brother, Luther Bollman of Riddlesburg; and a sister, Mrs. Lena Hoover of Bedford.
