Alvey Rites Planned Saturday- Iowa Park- Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church for Ivie Lee Alvey, 81, who died Thursday in a Wichita Falls hospital. The Rev. Kenneth Flowers, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under direction of Tanner Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include J. W. Alvey, C. A. Hicks, Virgil Scott, Keith Watkins, W. A. Alvey and Wesley McDonald. Alvey was born October 21, 1889, in Taylor, Texas and lived in Iowa Park 47 years. He was a retired oil field pumper. Survivors include his wife,[Ella]; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Kight of Iowa Park and Mrs. David Shoemaker of Whitehouse, Texas; two sons, Virgil Lee of Denver, Colorado and Johnnie Joe of the Virgin Islands; two sisters, Mrs. Carroll Lewis of Clarendon, Texas and Mrs. Ella Underdown of Joinerville, Texas; two brothers, J. W. of Wichita Falls and Roy of Burkburnett; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
