Old Settler Gone.
After a residence in Town Home for 41 years, Michael Brandl passed away on Sunday morning last. Funeral took place at St. Mary's church, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock.
Deceased was born in Bavaria, June 8, 1827, and was married to Catharine Biel in 1855. Three years later, they came to the United States and settled in Wisconsin, where they remained until 1872 when they came to Brown county and located on a farm in Town Home, where for the past 41 years he made his home. His wife passed away in 1896. Mr. Brandl leaves four sons and seven daughters, namely: Solomon of California, Frank of New Ulm, John at St. Peter, Joseph at home, Mrs. John Krzmarzick of Town Home, Mrs. Ben Marti of Lake Benton, Mrs. Kate Piehl of Stewart, Mrs. Anna Zangel of New Ulm, Mrs. Jacob Schmitz of North Star, Mrs. Henry Prahl of Superior, Wis., and Miss Minnie, a sister of the church, at Winona. One son and one daughter died in infancy.
for the past two years, Mr. Brandl was in failing health and he grew worse and for two weeks was confined to his bed. He was a man of strong and vigorous character and always enjoyed good health. Mr. Brandl was a highly honorable citizen and neighbor and his passing away removes another of the old land marks of Brown county.
