James Clay "Jim" Caylor

Birth: May 2, 1920
Death: Sep. 5, 1944, France

Son of Silas and Mary Caylor. Married Elizabeth Shelton. Entered Army Oct. 9, 1941. Stationed first at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, then at Camp Atterbury. There the 83 Infantry Division was formed. Stationed in Tennessee, then at Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky. In April 1944 they went to England. Entered France about the 20th of June where he served as a Motorized Military Policeman. Injured near Nozay, France in vehicle accident and died several days later. Burial: Elk Spring Cemetery on July 24, 1948.
