Henry Baumann was born in Germany. According to his Naturalization Petition, dated 17 Jun 1915, he was born in Niedersimden, but seeing that was pretty difficult to spell, I suspect the person writing the petition should have spelled Neidersachsen, Germany, because Neidersimden does not exist.

Henry emigrated to the USA through Antwerp Belgium on 20 Oct 1894 arriving in New York on 30 Oct 1894 aboard the ship Noordland.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 27 Dec 1900 and served in the 10th Infantry, Reg. A, Co. D. He was discharged on 26 Dec 1903.

He married my Great Grand Aunt Maria Anne Stab aka "Marian" on 1 Jun 1904 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., WV. Marian was b.15 Apr 1883 in Hottviller, France & d.20 May 1951 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., WV

They moved to Baltimore between 1910 & 1920 where Henry worked as a Brewer & Cellar Man with a local Brewry.

Henry and Marian Baumann appear to have had no kids of their own, however, after my Great Grandfather, Joseph Stab, lost his 1st wife, Ida Sollinger, and was left with 5 children, the family stepped in and helped take care of his kids. Henry and Marian took in my Grandmother, Marie R. Stab and completely provided for her education and helped her secure a job in Washington, DC.

I do wish I had a picture of him to post, but unfortunately I do not. Perhaps one day someone will come forward with one.
