Carl E. McFadden of Kirkwood (PA)
Carl E. McFadden, 78, of Kirkwood, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1991, in his home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Mildred S. Pinkerton McFadden.
Born in Chester County, he was a son of the late William A. and Jennie Morton McFadden.
Mr. McFadden had been a farmer and more recently had owned and operated a frozen food plant in Quarryville.
He was a member of the New London United Methodist Church, was active with the Methodist Men and the Board of Trustees and has been active in the choir of the church. He was also a member of the Quarryville Rotary Club where he had been past president and had received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was a member of the Fernwood Grange in Daleville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Carl Andrew of Peach Bottom, John Ross of Gettysburg, and Robert Edward of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter Nancy Alice Hughes of Tayloria; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, William A., Jr. of Rising Sun, Md., and two sisters, Laura Fulton of West Grove, and Mary Dodd of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1991, at 2 p.m. at the New London Methodist Church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Reynolds Funeral Home, Quarryville.
