James Langwood Oglesby of Jarvisburg died May 17 in a Dare County medical facility. He was 45. Mr. Oglesby, a native of Savannah, was a long-distance truck driver. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and he was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodis Church of Manns Harbor. He was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Oglesby, Sr. and the late Jenny Mae Helmly Oglesby. Mr. Oglesby is survived by his wife, Patricia Justice Oglesby of the home; four sisters, Lenice Burris of Rincon, Ga., Mary Kieffer of Springfield, Ga., Jeanelle Henley of Winchester, Tenn., and Janice Miller of Guyton, Ga.; one brother, Woodrow W. Oglesby, Jr. of Springfield, Ga.; 20 nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services were held Monday by the Rev. Jim Tosto at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Manns Harbor. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Twiford's Funeral Home in Manteo was in charge of arrangements.
