Graveside Memorial Service for Luther Adcock, 87, of Jasper, Texas, will be 2:00pm, Friday, April 1, 2011 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
Luther, a native of Willcox, Arizona was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. After being wounded in the war, he was sent to El Paso Army Base for rehabilitation for several months where he met Fay Jones. He and Fay married and settled down in Houston. Luther, a long time resident of Houston, retired from Southwestern Bell as well and relocated to Jasper with his wife in 1978. He was a very active member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriner Lodge serving in many of the different offices of those organizations. He and Fay were married for over 65 years.
Luther was preceded in death by his wife Fay (Jones) Adcock, on March 24, 2011. Their graveside service will be held together on April 1, 2011.
He is survived by a son, Richard "Rusty" Adcock and wife Martha of Jasper. Luther is survived by a sister, Betty Adcock of Clear Lake; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
