Claudie D. Wimberley was the daughter of William Hickman Wimberley and his second wife Martha "Mattie" Callie Pruitt. Claudie's paternal grandparents were Pleasant Wimberley and his wife Amanda Julian Jackson. Claudie was born on October 8, 1883, probably in Kinney County, Texas.
When she was 14, Claudie married 19-year-old George Overton Chance. The couple never had any children.
George and Claudie lived in Eddy County, New Mexico, in 1910; in Lea County, New Mexico, in 1920; and in Tom Green County, Texas, in 1930. It was in San Angelo, Tom Green County, that the couple spent the remainder of their lives. George became a contractor, and Claudie owned and managed a chicken hatchery. They enjoyed living in San Angelo. Claudie's full-sister Velma and two full-brothers Walter and Herbert lived nearby.
George died in 1954; and Claudie, in 1967. They were both buried in Calvary Cemetery in San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas.
