He was educated in schools and graduated from Edward Little high School class of 1908. He went on to study music first at Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD, and later for five years in Boston. He was the operator of a local music studio for 60 years where he taught piano, voice and organ.

Survivors include three sisters Albertine Auger of St Hyacinthe, Quebec, Rev Sister marie de Bon Conseil of Mt Merici Academy, Waterville, ME; and Rev Sister St Cecile of the monastery of the Precious Blood, Levis, Quebec, and one brother Alphonse Auger of Auburn, ME.
