This community was saddened Monday, upon learning of the death of Levi Coblentz. Mr. Coblentz had been ill about four weeks and was thought to be improving, but as he was subject to heart trouble, he succumbed to his illness and passed away Monday.
He was born in the state of Ohio, in the year 1844, and was married to Miss Marie Schilling in 1864, and they resided for a number of years in Alleghany City, Pennsylvania, moving to Nebraska in 1880. In the year 1890 they moved to the state of Colorado and have been residents of Brush since November 5, 1897.
Had Mr. Coblentz lived until October 1st, he would have been 61 years of age. He was mayor of Brush for one term, and later served as trustee, filling both positions with credit and honor.
Mr. and Mrs. Coblentz are beloved by all who knew them. He is survived by his widow and two sons, C.E. Coblentz of Hastings, Nebraska and H.L. Coblentz of Colorado Springs.
Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church, Wednesday morning, Rev. Hillman of the M.E. Church conducting the services and the remains laid to rest in the Brush Cemetery.
