Curtis "Butch" Emmons
(January 3, 1947 - June 7, 2010)

Curtis William "Butch" Emmons, age 63 of Petoskey, died June 7, 2010 at his home.

Butch was born on January 3, 1947 in Cheboygan, Mi, the son of William and Katherine (Owen) Emmons and was raised in Cross Village. He attended Cross Village Schools and graduated from Harbor Springs High School.

On December 22, 2006, Butch married Pamela "Suzie" Adams in Petoskey and she survives.

Butch was an active member of the Petoskey Eagles. He served as President and Past President, Trustee, Guard and Chaplain as well as and took part in many of their fundraising events. He was also a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cross Village and the Charlevoix Rod and Gun Club. Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, local baseball as well as Tigers baseball, camping, music, NASCAR, and even ran a stock car in Owosso for a few years.

Butch is survived by his wife, Pamela "Suzie" Emmons; mother, Marie Emmons; mother-in-law, Helen Adams; 3 children, Carrie Emmons of Holly, MI, Curtis Emmons, Jr., of Ortonville, MI, and Kathy (Jerome) Nesmith of North Carolina; Brother, Gary (Carole) Emmons of Cross Village; niece, Marti (Matt) Berlin of Levering; and 6 grandchildren, Jeff, Dalton, Nathen, Abby, Wesley, and Heather.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Catherine Owen and Charles and Louise Emmons; father, William Emmons; sister, Dawn Emmons; and by an uncle, George Emmons.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 11th at 11am at the Stone Funeral Home with Fr. Dennis Stilwell officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10th at the funeral home from 6-8pm with the Eagles Lodge of Sorrows being conducted at 7:15 with the Rosary immediately following. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Butch's memory may be directed to the Eagles President Project or Hiland Cottage of Hospice of Little Traverse Bay.
