Rev. George W. Cantin, Walls, a retired minister in the Mississippi Conference, died February 5, 1996, at Baptist Hospital Central in Memphis, TN. Rev. Cantin was pastor at Beldden Charge, Vaiden Charge, Courtland Charge, South Charge at Oxford, and taught Sunday Morning Fellowship Radio Program on WBLA in Batesville. He also was a retired school teacher at the Mississippi School for the Blind, and a retired counselor at Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind.
Services were conducted at St. Andrews Methodist Church, Oxford, on February 9, 1996, with Rev. Gus Shelly officiating. Burial was at St. Peter's Cemetery, Oxford.
He is survived by his wife, Flora "Flo" of Walls; a daughter, Adranelle Cantin Tabor of Abbeville; step-daughters, Jane Bennett of Memphis, Karen Finger of Memphis, and Kathy Farrow of Marianna, Florida; step-sons, Glen King of Indianapolis, IN, and Doug King of Walls, and many grandchildren.
