Obituary

Everett E. Davis, 66, of 175 Vanness, died at his home at noon Sunday. He was a Burlington train dispatcher at the time of his retirement in 1968.

The son of John and Leota Long Davis, he was born at Russell April 19, 1903. He had been a resident of Ottumwa since 1942 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church , Burlington veterans and Elks 347.

He married Gladys Messer Aug. 23, 1923 in Henry County . She survives, as for one son, Roger K. Davis of Stansbury , Conn. ; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. George Wright of Russell, and Mrs. Ernest Comito of Des Moines.

The service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Stanley Woeste of First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery .
