Alberta Mae Beers, 86, 150 Sand Valley Road, Jonesborough, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Beers was a native of Allegheny County, Pa., and had lived many years in Chicago, Ill., before coming to this area in 1961. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bowser.
Mrs. Beers was a homemaker and a member of Crossroads Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Beers, in 2001, a son, Edward Raymond Beers, and by two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include three sons, Vernon J. Beers, Knoxville, Robert Allen Beers, Limestone, and Thomas Theodore Beers, Pearl, Miss.; two daughters, JoAnne B. Ketelsen, Nashville, and Pamela Treadway, Jonesborough; and a sister, Loretta Kurley, of Pennsylvania. Twenty-one grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282-1521, is in charge of arrangements.

BEERS -- Funeral services for Alberta Mae Beers, 86, 150 Sand Valley Road, Jonesborough, who died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday, December 7, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Mr. Clinton Andrews officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Monte Vista Burial Park with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday. For those who prefer, the family suggests memorials to The Salvation Army, 423 W. Walnut St., Johnson City, TN 37601. Condolences to the family may be sent through www.morrisbaker.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Morris-Baker Funeral Home, Johnson City.
