His wife was Dorothy Currier, daughter of David and Keziah (Colby) Currier. His Great-grandmother was Susannah (North) Martin who was falsely accused and hanged as a witch in Salem on July 19, 1692. He served as the Commander of the brig "Queen of Spain" in The Revolutionary War. Was President of the Boston Marine Society. He had seven sisters and no brothers.
