Our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend was called to his eternal resting place on October 13, 2010 as a result of an automobile accident.
Leslie Gay Jr., affectionately known as "Junie," Cheese," "Meatloaf," and "Burger," was born on Oct. 13, 1957, to Irma Gay and the late Leslie Gay Sr. He was the fourth child born to their union.
He was a Sussex Central High School's Class of 1977 and was formerly employed by Newport News Shipbuilding and Georgia Pacific. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
One brother, Michael Gay, preceded him in death.
"Junie" leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted mother, Irma Gay of Wakefield, Va.; two brothers, Thomas Gatling of Newark, N.J., and Dennis Gay (Maureen) of Waverly, Va.; five sisters, Gloria Gatling, Velma Langford, Elizabeth Clanton (Carroll) all of Wakefield, Va., Janice Johnson (Tony) of Waverly, Va., and Deborah Gay of Petersburg, Va.; six aunts Nancy Goodman (Amos), Phyllis Jones, Nell Patterson, Louise Stith (Robert), Gladys Stringfield and Phyllis Ruffin (James); three uncles Richard Caple Jr. (Elizabeth), Fred Gay Sr. (Dorothy), and Richard; many nieces, nephews, cousins. He also leaves to cherish a very devoted, loving and caring companion, Elise Diane Jackson.
With much love he served as a fatherlike figure to Lionel Stith, Marguerita Moton, Rodney Moton (Paula), Tamara Taylor and Tiffany Taylor, Karleah Lee (Troy), Kenya Rodgers (TyJuan) and June Jackson-Wyatt (Calvin).
