GROVE - William "Bill" Browning, age 87, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at the Betty Ann Nursing Home in Grove. The son of Charles T. Browning and Mary (Beukma) Browning, he was born September 8, 1913 in Kansas City, Mo. Bill moved to Grove in 1953. He retired from American Airlines as a mechanic in 1975. Bill operated the Grove Airport from 1976 to 1982, and ran the Miami Airport for several years. Bill married Burneva "Bea" Wolfe on September 8, 1967 in Mountain Home, Ark.


He is survived by his wife, Burneva "Bea" Browning, of Grove; two step-children, Larry Baker of Tulsa, Okla., and Judy Gray of Grove; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.


The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Worley-Luginbuel Chapel in Grove with Dr. Robin Cowin officiating. Donations may be made to Integris Regency Hospice, P.O. Box 1590, Miami, OK 74355. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
