WESLEY W. STREETER

Wesley W. Streeter died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Smith, at Barnes Corners, on the 2d (looks like inst?) With his death Lewis County and Barnes Corners loses one of it's oldest residents and a man beloved by all who knew him. He was 84 years of age at the time of his death. The deceased was born at Barnes Corners, and had made that place his home during his lifetime, residing in one house there for fifty years. For thirty eight years Mr. Streeter held office of constable. Since the death of his wife, which occurred eight years ago, Mr. Streeter has resided with his sons and daughters. He went to the home of Mrs. Smith about six weeks ago for a visit. His death was due to old age. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Barnes Corners, Rev. Whittaker, pastor of the Baptist church of Lorraine, officiting. The floral offerings at the church were beautiful, the alter being one mass of flowers. The interment was at East Rodman. The deceased is survived by six children, five daughters and one son. They are: Mrs. Tina Dickinson, of Watertown; Mrs. Of Barnes Corners; Mrs. Orville Robinson, of Belleville; Mrs. W. F. Smith, of Oswego; Mrs. Anna Johnson, and Miss Rozelle Streeter, of Watertown.

(NOTE: Correction the "Miss" Rozelle was his son Rozell Streeter who was a building contractor in Watertown, Jefferson Co., New York. Mrs. W. F. Smith was Celena, Tina was also known as Tinnie married to Albert Dickinson of Ellisburg. From the Lowville paper "Journal & Republican dated August 12, 1897.Thelma Moye)
