Birth: Jun. 6, 1828
Death: Jan. 27, 1917

ANNA BOYER died January 27, 1917, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James (Caroline) Clover, who resides in Beaver Township, near Knox, Clarion County, (PA). Mrs. Boyer passed away at the age of eighty-eight years, six months and twenty-one days. She was a daughter of Joel and Anna Boyer Cope and was born in Montgomery County, (PA), on July 6, 1828. On January 16, 1851, she was married to Amos Boyer. To them were born ten children - three sons and seven daughters - nine of whom survive her, one daughter having died in childhood. She is survived also by thirty-eight grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was a woman of great force of character and many sterling qualities. After the untimely death of her husband on August 29, 1867, she bravely took up his work in addition to her own, cared for her nine little children and successfully raised them all, making a competency for herself and them. She was a kind and faithful wife and a gentle, loving mother, always a help and blessing in the community in which she lived, and was greatly loved by all who knew her. Before removing to Beaver Township with her daughter, Mrs. Boyer lived many years in Salem Township, where she was also well and widely known. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church until 1895, when the Third Angel's message came to her, and she fully accepted it. She became a member of the Seventh-Day Adventists, keeping all the commandants of God and was a true believer in the soon coming of Christ. She rests in the hope of meeting her Lord in the first resurrection. Funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Caroline Clover at 10 a.m. on January 30, 1917, by J. A. Bord, pastor of the Lutheran Church of Salem. She was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the old burying ground adjoining the church at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Lamartine, Salem Township, (PA).
