Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bluejacket Cemetery in Bluejacket, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service. Mrs. Kincaid died Tuesday, Sept. 12, at her home in Norman.
She was born in Marshall, Mo., on March 12, 1919, to Clyde Vernon and Golda Gore Hightower (Haupt). She grew up in Bartlesville and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She was the oldest living direct descendent of Charles Bluejacket, Shawnee Indian chief, Methodist minister and the founder of Bluejacket, Indian Territory. She was proud of her heritage and instilled in her family respect and love for all people, family said. She passionately supported the research and development of the Bluejacket Genealogy Compilation.
Mrs. Kincaid was a patriot and proudly supported her husband's Air Force career; the family lived in Oklahoma, Georgia, New York, Florida, England and New York again prior to returning to Oklahoma in 1960. Her love of animals led her to raise Standard Poodles and she developed a line of AKC champions. She also operated a popular dog grooming business in Norman for many years. She was a faithful follower of OU football and always anticipated game day with great expectations. Her love of music covered the Big Band era, jazz and Country -- Western, in particular Toby Keith.
Mrs. Kincaid is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Joyce and Charles Fletcher White; two sons and daughters-in-law, John William and Martine Kincaid and Phillip Blake and Cindy Kincaid; 10 grandchildren, Scott White, Melissa Wolff, Timothy White, Lisa Joerg, Jerome Kincaid, Julie Kincaid, David Kincaid, Mark Kincaid, Erika Kincaid and Blake Kincaid; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous extended family and friends around the United States.
