Served in Co. B, 113th IL Vol. Infantry from 01 Oct 1862 until 01 Jul 1865. He was captured during or shortly after the Battle of Brice's Cross Roads (AKA Guntown) on 10 Jun 1864. Held as a prisoner of war, he was eventually released and returned to his unit. [He doesn't appear on the Andersonville list.]
He became a Methodist minister after the Civil War.
