Randolph Melton, son of the late Ed and Lucy Melton, was born June 30, 1882 in Christian county, Missouri, and passed away following a short illness in the Ozark Osteopathic hospital in Springfield on December 29, 1950. At an early age he united with the Prospect Baptist church, later moving his membership to the Highlandville Baptist church, of which he was a member at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Goldie, of the home near Ozark; his two children by a former marriage, Mrs. Tressia Ward of Springfield, Mo., and Noel Melton of Sikeston, Mo., four brothers, Jesse and Clifford Melton of Ozark, Doc of Chino, Calif., and Bobbie of Ontario, Calif., three sisters, Mrs. Sophronia Plank and Mrs. Ada Pollard of Ozark and Miss Minnie Melton of Highlandville; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon in the Highlandville Baptist church by Rev. Blevins with burial in the Selmore cemetery under direction of Chaffin of Ozark.
