Houston - Doyle Lynn "Jack Knife" Morgan, age 60, died Sunday, Sept. 6 1998 after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 7 at Southern Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Dr. Gregg Thomas officiating.

Born Mar. 16, 1938 in Eupora to the late Jack and Merlie Morgan, he was a veteran, a member of the VFW Post 2098 in West Point and a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He had retired from 30 years of truck driving.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Ella Jean Morgan of Houston; two children, David William Morgan and Jennifer Lynn Morgan, both of Houston; two stepsons, Charles Anthony Lewis and William Claude Lewis, both of Okolona; his mother-in-law, Addie Hill Yeager of Houston; one grandson, Austin Ryan Blansett, age 4, of Houston; three sisters, Bonnie Sherbert of Boise, ID, Doris Skelton of Houston and Sara Jo Sanders of Dallas, TX and 20 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Haymond Morgan and D W Morgan and two sisters, Delois Ragland and Polly McCartney.

Pallbearers were his first cousins, John Elkins, James Elkins, Jerry Elkins, M H Pittman, Robert Pittman and Charles "Buddy" Pittman. Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Rucker, Glen Eastman, Huey Pittman and Duwayne Pittman.

Southern Funeral Chapel of Houston was in charge of arrangements.
