Birth: unknown
Death: 1897

From George Akins-
I feel like John M. Akins death was about 1897. I base this on the 1900 US Census of Lamar Co., AL. It shows his wife Jane to be widowed, and then she states that she had been married 23 years. They were married in 1874 and if you add 23 years to it you have 1897. If she had stated how many years ago it was that she had married it would have been 26 years.
If you donít feel comfortable with that date you might want to use the time of death for him as between August of 1890 and 2 June 1900. August of 1890 because that would have been 9 months before his last child, Rhoda, was born and 2 June 1900, because that was the date the 1900 Census, Lamar Co., AL, was enumerated showing his wife Jane as a widow.

John & Jane also had 2 children that are not shown below. Fannie Arvazine Akins was born 4 Jul 1875 and died as a teenager, but I donít know where she is buried, and James W. ďJimĒ Akins born on 22 Jun 1879. I donít know when or where he died either.
