Lt in Civil War. Although in the Army briefly at the start of the Civil War, the majority of his time was as an Asst. Surgeon in the Navy on a number of ships, most notably the Ironclad Montauk. He was at Ford's theatre the day Lincoln was shot, and wrote a famous letter on the topic. Gradudate of University of NY and U of MD. Yellow fever victim.
