Clinton Pickrel, 70, a resident of Retsil for 23 years, passed away last night at the Washington Veteran's hospital.
A veteran of the Spanish-American war, he served as a private in company G of the 49th infantry from September, 1899, until Oct. 11, 1899. He was born Sept. 5, 1880, in Seward, Neb.
Surviving are his wife, Rose H., of the family home in Retsil; two daughters, Mrs. Pansy Ryan of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Mildred Scholting of Springfield, Neb.; a brother, Harvey Pickrel of Waco, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. Josie Heitzman of Long Beach, Calif.
