James Garland Ferguson Sr.

Ferguson made contributions to:
local schools and churches
along with donations to Arkansas Baptist
Hospital and St. Vincent Infirmary
(Medical Center).

Ferguson donated $2 for every $1 the
citizens of Searcy County raised for a
library. Several others donated when
the community fell short; However,
the handsome new red brick (Colonial
style)library was built! It is a treasured
part of the region today, available for
a host of activities as well as providing
books and magazines and computers to link
the little town to the entire globe.

It was named in honor of the major
benefactor -- 'Jim Ferguson.'
