William T. England Jr., age 68, of Cable, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn.

Bill was born March 15, 1936, in Ashland, the son of William T. England Sr. and Christine H. (Lund) England. He was employed by U.S. Steel as a porter, sailing the Great Lakes for over 33 years.

Surviving are his brothers, James P. (Maureen) of Rocklin, Calif., and Edward R. of Rhinelander, along with several nieces and nephews. His parents and two sisters, Marilyn England and Barbara Nelson preceded him in death.

A visitation will be held at the Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Saint Agnes Cemetery in Ashland. The Mountain Funeral Home, Ashland and Mellen, is assisting the family with arrangements.
