Obituary (Renville paper):

Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, 1990, for V. Gayden Perry from the United Methodist Church in Renville, with Pastors Art Keith and Hilda A. Parks officiating. Music was provided by the organist, Robert Kutter, and soloist Ned Wohlman. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Gayden Perry was born June 8, 1937, to V. Stuart and Irene Perry in Sioux City, Iowa. He was baptized in Hartford, Connecticut, at the Congregational Church and confirmed at the First Methodist Church in Carroll, Iowa. Gayden spent many enjoyable summers with Slim and Melrose Paradee on the farm he would come to call home. He graduated from Carroll Public High School, and attended the University of Minnesota, graduating from the School of Civil Engineering. On August 31, 1958, he was united in marriage to Beryl Parks in Vernon Center. He worked as a civil engineer for two years in California, before returning to Sacred Heart Township, where he farmed until 1985. Gayden then worked as parts manager at Fuller's, which later became C.M.A.S., until August of 1990. At various intervals in his life he enjoyed bowling, playing and studying chess, and all aspects of computer operations. His death [emphysema] occurred on Tuesday, October 16, 1990, at his home, at the age of 53.

Gayden is survived by his wife Beryl; three daughters: Corinne and her husband Jamie Lecy of Redwood Falls, Celeste and her husband Roger Knutson of Sacred Heart, and Paulette Perry of St. Louis Park; four grandchildren: Amy and Tyrel Lecy, and Brittany and Jessica Knutson; his mother Irene Perry of Renville; and his aunt Melrose Paradee of Renville. He was preceded in death by his father V. Stuart, and his uncle Slim Paradee.

Pallbearers were Desmond Malecek, William Sietsema, Lee Sietsema, Robert Fredrickson, Eldon Daugherty and Kenneth Samuelson.
