He was adopted by the Perry family of St. Johnsbury, VT, c. 1910 upon the re-marriage of his father.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 2, for Victor Stuart Perry from the United Methodist Chruch, Renville, with Rev. Betty L. Lundeen officiating. Music was provided by the organist, Nancy Smith, and songs were sung by Ned Wohlman and the Methodist quartet of: Jill Klatt, Raye McKim, Darwin Lundeen, and Robert Kutter. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery.
Victor Stuart Perry was born on October 12, 1905, in Pomfret, Vermont. He was baptized at the South Congregational Church in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, and attended the St. Johnsbury Academy, graduating in 1923. Stuart began working for the Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. in Hartford, Connecticut. He entered the University of Minnesota graduating in 1930, and returned to work with Connecticut General. On October 14, 1933, he was united in marriage to Irene Clausen at the First Lutheran Church in Renville. They lived in Hartford for three years, until being transferred to Sioux City, Iowa. They moved to Carroll, Iowa, where Stuart began the Iowa Land Service Co. in 1942. He was active in many organizations including the Rotary and the American Field Service. He was a charter member of Iowa Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers Group and the Carroll Airport Commission. He was an active member of the First Methodist Church in Carroll, and the United Methodist Church in Renville, and especially enjoyed singing in the church choirs. Stuart retired and moved to Renville in 1978. He entered the Ren-Villa Nursing Home in 1982, and his death occurred there on January 30, at the age of 82.
Stuart is survived by his wife Irene; one son Gayden and his wife Beryl of Sacred Heart; three granddaughters: Corinne (Mrs. Jamie) Lecy of Redwood Falls, Celeste (Mrs. Roger) Knutson of Montevideo, and Paulette of Tubingen, West Germany; three great-grandchildren: Amy and Tyrel Lecy, and Brittany Knutson; and one [half-]sister Thelma (Mrs. Clifton) Poore of Norwich, Vermont. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
Casket bearers were: Eldon Daugherty, Kenneth Daugherty, Robert Frederickson, Brian Fuller, William Sietsema, and Ned Wohlman.
Honorary casketbearers were: Harold Berger, Norman Dunwell, Carlot Kottum, Gay Larson, Bill Ranney, Del Rhodes, and Gilman Westby.
