Maria Susanna Partridge Boughton Humiston was the daughter of George Wakeman Partridge (1786-1866) and Mary Elizabeth Horn (1790-1883). Maria's first husband was Myron Boughton, who was killed fighting in the Civil War in 1862.
Together they had five children, their youngest born two months after her father died. In 1863 Maria married a second time to Asahel Humiston and they farmed and lived in Waupaca, Wisconsin. After Asahel died Maria moved to Louisiana with son, James Wakeman Boughton and his family. Sometime after his mother's death James returned to live in Wisconsin.
